Egypt’s Defence Minister inspects Central Military Region, stresses highest combat readiness

Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Defence Minister Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher inspected the combat readiness of the Central Military Region as part of ongoing field follow-up of the armed forces’ preparedness.
During the visit, Zaher was briefed on recent development and modernization efforts within the zone in the presence of Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa and commanders of the main branches, the military said in a statement.
The defense minister also reviewed samples of upgraded air defence and medical service systems, which the statement said reflected the zone’s operational readiness.
Zaher later shared an iftar meal with personnel from the zone as well as Border Guards, Paratroopers and Sa’ka (Thunder) forces.
He conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, stressing the importance of continuous training and maintaining high morale to ensure the armed forces remain at peak readiness to safeguard national security.
He also affirmed the military leadership’s commitment to supporting service members as the backbone of the armed forces and urged troops to enhance their awareness of rapidly evolving regional developments and their implications for Egypt’s national security.
